Did you know that over 2.8 million Americans have some degree of hearing loss? One-third of them have been affected by noise. When you are exposed to loud or prolonged noise, the tiny hair cells lining the inner ear are damaged and the transmission of sound is permanently altered. Both the amount of noise and the length of time you are exposed to the noise determine its ability to damage your hearing.

Sounds louder than 80 dB (decibels) are considered potentially dangerous.

Portable Music Devices with the volume up 1/4 of the way = 85 dB
Portable Music Devices  with the volume all the way up = 120 dB

Be kind to your ears and protect your hearing. Monitor the volume on your Portable Music Devices.
